Prayer is perhaps the most vital part of the Christian life. It is essential to worship God, love others, and grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ. In the opening address of the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus teaches us how to really approach God in prayer and speak to Him as our Heavenly Father.

What a contrast! Jesus has just had an encounter with religious leaders from Jerusalem, whom He rebuked for their vain worship. Now a Gentile woman pleads with Him for mercy and is graciously rewarded. Truly what is outside matters not, but rather that we come to Jesus with a humble and expectant heart.
