This Psalm reminds us that Zion is the destined metropolis of both Jew and Gentile; that the city of God, the people of God, will be made up of every tribe and tongue and nation – including Egyptians, Babylonians, Philistines, Sidonians, Ethiopians, Zulus, Afrikaners, Sothos …and on and on and on. God’s delight is that all the nations should worship Him, and it should thus be our concern too.
