Philippians 2:25 – 30
Paul gives us more examples of how those who are in Christ can become more like Him. We have examples of the kind of men we are to honour and to imitate – contrary to the way of the world – ordinary lives lived with an extra-ordinary passion for Christ and for the spread of His gospel.
Philippians 2:19 – 24
This passage gives us two examples of how we might live as servants of Christ, loving God’s people and trusting God’s plans – for His pleasure and our joy.
Paul commands believers to give up grumbling. Paul, no stranger to trials and difficulties, calls us to replace sinful grumbling with thanksgiving – for our joy and God’s glory.
These vital verses tell us how we are to work zealously to become who we are in Christ, at the same time being totally dependent on His mighty power.
